“What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
~ Karl Lagerfeld

Formento & Formento
Series: Spies, Lies and Saboteurs
"Spies, Lies and Saboteurs" is Formento & Formento's homage to the unsung heroines of World War II. Their stories demonstrate that they were ordinary women caught up in extraordinary times.
Series: Hysteria
"Hysteria" is set post World War II, when America was at the height of its power, yet also on the verge of spinning out of control. This uncertain state represents a world we still know and are trying to find ways to contend with today.
Markus Klinko
Olivia Wilde posed for a series of several covers across the Modern Luxury Media city-based lifestyle magazines, including Angeleno, Houston and Miami.
"Who better to front our very first Beauty Issue in February 2012 than the fetching Olivia Wilde, whose quietly seductive portrait by Markus Klinko wholly encapsulated what this volume was all about: beauty inside and out.” ~ Modern Luxury (Miami)
"When photographing an artist, I always desire to create a work that truly defines them and can serve as a milestone in pop culture history. Those are ambitious and lofty goals, but it is what I am thinking about when I pick up my camera." ~ Markus Klinko
Series: Bowie Unseen
On the strength of [his] work for David Bowie's "Heathen" album, Markus was asked to create the cover image for GQ‘s “Man of the Year” issue honoring David. The resulting image shows the rock star fearlessly posing with a pack of wild wolves. Due to David's busy schedule and lack of availability for another shoot, Markus was forced to use a body double with the wolves, carefully adding in the singer’s face from the photos taken for "Heathen" during post-production.
“Our male model proved himself quite brave, as he worked it with the energetic and sometimes aggressive wolves. While his face looked nothing like Bowie, he was able to channel him through his body language.” ~ Markus Klinko

When asked about his favourite person to photograph and why, Markus replied:
"I am lucky because I shoot so many interesting people. Always the last one I shoot is my favorite, because of the adrenaline rush. The list is wondrous. I have top favorites, of course – Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Kim Kardashian, Kanye, and Jay Z. They are all among my very favorites. It’s not just because they were shot in the 2000s, it’s because I really love them and had a wonderful time working with them."
