Heavy Sea

Pejac

Medium: 2 colour screen print with hand finished details on 250gsm paper, signed by the artist

Edition: #51/70

Year: 2014

Size: 102.0cm x 73.0cm

Good To Know: Unframed, stored flat in our humidity controlled art storage facility, accompanied by a CoA (Certificate of Authenticity) issued by the artist, condition report available upon request.

Arty-Fact: Heavy Sea shows a massive pile of car tires with one lonely red safety ring among them. In his signature style, Pejac is using a simple image to address a large, important issue – ocean pollution and waste disposal. The work was likely inspired by the phenomenon of Osborne Reef, an artificial reef made of over one million car tires off the coast of Florida. The uneven contrast between the abundance of black tires against one bright safety ring symbolises a desperate situation that mankind is in. It also, however, represents a ray of hope.
