As we wrap up another whirlwind year, we find ourselves surrounded by the warm glow of twinkling lights, the sweet scent of gingerbread cookies, and the unmistakable jingle of bells in the air - and flies, and mozzies, and sunstroke, 'cause we're celebrating the festive season Oz style βοΈ
Gather around and enjoy some highlights from the year that was at Addicted.

With her vibrant and colourful paintings that blend pop art with touches of photorealism, Rasha Eleyan is adding her voice to a cause that has had a bearing on who she is her whole life - Palestine. And she’s doing it in her unique pop art style adding two original works to her portfolio.
"Watermelon (We Don't Forget)" by Rasha Eleyan
“And in Palestine,
Where it is [was] a crime to wave the flag of Palestine in Palestine,
Watermelon halves are raised against Israeli troops,
For the red, black, white, green of Palestine. Forever.”
~ Extract from ‘Ode to the Watermelon’ by Aracelis Girmay, Teeth, 2007
"Zaghrouta Solidarity" by Rasha Eleyan
"My sister, our land has a throbbing heart,
It doesn't cease to beat, and it endures the unendurable,
It keeps the secrets of hills and wombs,
This land sprouting, with spikes and palms,
Is also the land that gives birth to a freedom-fighter,
This land, my sister, is a woman."
~ Hamza, Fadwa Tuqan

This is our Oprah moment where we share (one of) our favourite things - eL Seed's "Dream Big". The artwork is a calligraffiti piece which when unravelled reads as a quote from the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish that says, “At the size of your dream, earth gets wider". It gives us the feels every time πππ
