Arty-Fact: “Success” features a hand drawn / painted image of Pig Pen from the comic strip Peanuts. The artist takes the perspective that Pig Pen is the often overlooked character not given the same chances as the other, more proper, characters may have been given. Although the odds are stacked against Pig Pen, through determination and hard work he is able to achieve success not just financially but also in life with the unique ability to balance both.
The background was created using a mix of cements, putty and acrylic paints giving a rough texture which compliments the message. The piece features custom made neon lighting.
