Arty-Fact: “I’ve learned to be less afraid of making mistakes, as failures are a part of success. It’s a false dichotomy to think these things are removed from each other. As an artist you have to accept that you will make bad work, it’s part of the learning curve. The important thing is to keep working, showing up in the studio and not placing too much importance on other people’s opinions of your work, or attach ego to your work – just appreciate the time that you are able to put in, and concentrate on being a better version of yourself every time you step into the studio, pick up a pen and paper or make marks with a paintbrush.
