Happy Friyay Addictees!
It's a question that has so often been on the lips of art lovers: how, and to what extent, is your taste in art a reflection of your personality?
It seems many casual and committed collectors alike agree the art they collect says at least something about the kind of person they are. A survey of 2,000 people conducted a while ago (how’s that for referencing?) by the Affordable Art Fair found one-third of fair visitors regarded art as the best way to enhance the mood of a room and express their personality.
However, despite the extensive research that has been undertaken over the years into the link between artistic preferences and human personality, few hard conclusions have been reached - except that there does, indeed, seem to be some kind of link.
Dr Stian Reimers, the psychology expert behind the Art and Personality Experiment by the BBC (also conducted a while ago 😬), suggests that “If you like a party, you may prefer abstract paintings”.
So party people, make like it’s 2009, jump on the Vengabus and welcome this week’s Weekend (abstract) Art Fix by Tunku Khalsom 🥳
Medium: Mixed media (giclée, ink and spray paint) on wood panel with acrylic framed edges, signed by the artist

Arty-Fact: "I just want to fill the world with colour and love, and with that comes a little chaos." ~ Khalsom
Street and pop art lovers, if you haven't visited yet, go and check out our virtual exhibition #INYAFACEAgain
Works by Rasha Eleyan
We are 🖐! To mark our 5th birthday, the first 5 clients to purchase from the show during the exhibition period will receive an extra special Addicted Art Gallery gift.
In the spirit of this mega global shopping weekend, we'll extend the offer to include the gift with any purchase of an abstract artwork (27 - 30 November), because we like to par-tay! In addition to the fabulous Khalsom, we have works by Samantha Redfern and Lara Scolari in our abstract portfolio.
Want to try our artwork on your wall before you buy? Check out our Apptastic See It On Your Wall.
Until the next one,
The Vengabus is comin' and everybody's jumpin'
New York through San Fransisco
An interstate free disco,
The wheels of steel are turnin' and traffic lights are burnin'
So if you like to party,
Get on and move your body… and buy abstract art. It is Black Friday after all.
