Component's work leaps from both his canvasses and the city's brick walls throughout his native home town of Auckland, New Zealand.
His work is a commentary on everything from fallen Hip Hop legends, God vs Google (Google God), to England's Queen Elizabeth scratching at a turn-table (Queeny). Component has been influenced by the cultural shifts in his home suburb of Grey Lynn. His art particularly reflects the changes brought about by money and outside interests.
Self taught, Component constantly contributes to society through not only his artistry, but via the community by running workshops, sharing his passion for art and DJ'ing.
Component is a founder and permanent collaborator with Cut Collective, a New Zealand based art collective who actively promote the value of collaboration in their work. The Cut Collective are advocates for enhancement of the built environment by creating public art. The group works with a range of media to produce cutting edge art for the community.
