Arty-Fact: "Miss Ivy" se tient sans protection, pleinement maîtresse d’elle-même. Nue, droite, les bras levés - sans être dissimulée. Le feuillage bleu-vert ne la submerge pas ; il la soutient. Le lierre épouse son corps comme une seconde peau - protectrice plutôt qu’agressive.
Une colombe s’élève de sa main - un geste de libération. Quelque chose de longtemps retenu, enfin relâché.
L’œuvre fait directement référence à Poison Ivy (DC Comics) - Pamela Isley, botaniste dont le corps et la puissance sont fusionnés avec le monde végétal. Dans les comics, la nature devient à la fois bouclier et arme : capable de soigner comme de nuire, selon la manière dont elle est traitée.
Ici, le lierre n’attaque pas ; il abrite et il soigne. Mais la nature n’est jamais neutre - elle soutient la vie tout en étant poussée, dépouillée et contrainte au déséquilibre.
"Miss Univers "fut le commencement - consciente d’elle-même. Dans "Miss Ivy", elle est abritée par la nature - assez puissante pour riposter, choisissant plutôt de nourrir.
"Miss Ivy" stands unguarded and in control. Nude, upright, arms raised - not hidden. The blue-green foliage doesn't overwhelm her; it holds her. Ivy coils along her body like a second skin - protective rather than predatory.
A dove lifts from her hand - an act of release. Something long held, now let go.
The work draws directly from Poison Ivy (DC Comics) - Pamela Isley, the botanist whose body and power are fused with plant life itself. In the comics, nature becomes both shield and weapon: capable of healing, capable of harm, depending on how it's treated.
Here, the ivy does not attack; it shelters and heals. But nature is never neutral - it sustains life while being pushed, stripped, and forced into imbalance.
"Miss Univers" was the beginning - self-aware. In "Miss Ivy," she is sheltered by nature - powerful enough to retaliate, choosing to nurture instead.
