Arty-Fact: “I was reading about Chinese Porcelain - in particular imperial porcelain with its beautiful yellow, pink and blue colours. Why yellow? Why pink? The patterns are beautiful. I wanted to use a magnifying glass to zoom in. But when painting what I saw, I wanted the colours to fade out like time will do to all colour - to show that nothing will last forever, a concept I always go back to in my work. I used pastel acrylic colours, then added little ghosts dancing, they appear to be waving at you, just as you can see in the best Huanghuali Wood.” ~ Kai Fehr
