Set between the Basilica, the Palace of Justice and Brussels’ skyline, "Bruxelles Ma Belle" blends city life with playful surrealism. Originally painted by Anthea Missy as a mural at the Aparthotel Adagio in Zaventem, the work draws on the Franco-Belgian comic tradition, with a hint of Magritte - furniture takes on a life of its own and rain falls beneath an open umbrella. In this downpour, two friends share a simple moment, suggesting that companionship, and joy, can exist anywhere in the rhythm of everyday life. The title echoes the beloved song by Dick Annegarn, later covered by Angèle, an affectionate tribute to the Belgian capital.
