"Eye Heart Chanel", 2015
✨ Addicted Art Gallery Presents…
Jamie Nelson: The Cult of Coco ✨
Where luxury becomes liturgy...
And Chanel becomes a religion of its own.
Dear Style Disciples,
Our next exhibition has arrived - and trust us, this one is worth confessing your fashion sins for. In Jamie Nelson’s The Cult of Coco, the photographer extraordinaire takes you straight into the heart of Chanel devotion: that glossy, shimmering space where a luxury logo becomes a belief system and branding starts to look a lot like worship.
Jamie dives deep into our collective obsession with the luxury logo: that slippery, shimmering line where branding becomes belief and a pair of interlocking C’s can send even the most rational humans into a state of fashion rapture.
Working in collaboration with artist Dylan Egon, Jamie constructs a world of faux Chanel relics so deliciously blasphemous they feel almost sacred:
✨ Gold-plated weaponry
✨ Knife halos
✨ Eyelash-curling, microscopic “Chanel eye-boogers”
... all staged alongside authentic Chanel pieces styled by Anna Katsanis, just to keep you guessing what’s real and what’s reverently ridiculous.
The tension between genuine and counterfeit becomes the heartbeat of the series.
What happens when a logo becomes a doctrine?
When glamour becomes gospel?
When luxury becomes… liturgy?
Jamie doesn’t just photograph it - she exposes it, teases it, worships and wickedly questions it all at once.
The result? A decadent, satirical, high-gloss fever dream that unpacks our devotion to brands, our hunger for icons, and the delicate thrill of not knowing whether something is authentic - or whether that even matters anymore.
